Sherrie Laure Arce, 67 years old of Hot Springs, South Dakota died Saturday Nov 25, 2017 at Custer Regional Senior Care. She was born March 23, 1950 in Gordon, Nebraska to Fredrick and Norma Ehlers.

She attended Gordon High school. She moved to Indio, California where she worked as a social worker with the county of Riverside. She was a member and a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church in Indio, California. She spent most of her time working with the church where she volunteered for mission work to teach Sunday school and help with donating clothing. After she retired from Riverside County she moved back to Gordon, Nebraska to help take care of her Mother Norma Ehlers and worked in the kitchen for the Sheridan County Schools. She dedicated her life to helping other people. She was loved by all who knew her. She had a kind and gentle soul. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Survivors include her daughter Tammy W. Wellnitz of Hot Springs, SD. Her son Chad E. Daugherty of San Jacinto, CA. Grand Children Tara Ourada of Rapid City, SD, Victor O'Donnell of Bloomington, MN. Great-granddaughters Victoria, Grace and Ali O'Donnell of Bloomington, MN, also Eddie and Raymond Alejos of Massillon, OH, who she raised and loved. Brothers Fred Elhers and Troy Elhers Sisters Diana, Elzora Alejos of Indio, CA, Patricia Davis of Hemet, CA, Kim Ehlers of Gordon, NE and Fritzy Ehlers who was taken from us to soon.

Services will be held Saturday January 6, 2018 at 10:00am at the Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, Nebraska.
