Biography
Charles Robert Cover, 65, of Hay Springs, Nebraska passed away at his home. He was born on February 14, 1945 in Nevada, Ohio, to Robert P. and Betty Cover. As a child, he lived with his parents and his sister Linda at the family farm in Ohio. Here he began his passion for archery, hunting, and the great outdoors. He was a free spirit, an avid bow hunter, and enjoyed Native American culture as well as racing cars. He graduated from high school in Nevada in 1963 and went to work fro Timpkin, a ball bearing factory.
He married Diane Kimmel on November 6, 1965. Chuck and Diane were blessed with three children, Brad, Brett, and Azure. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in Ohio in 1965. The family lived in numerous places, including one Ohio winter in a tepee, and finally settled in Hay Springs, Nebraska in 1977. Chuck worked for several different local companies and began several business ventures, including a jewelry and leather shop and guided bow hunts, meanwhile opening Pine Ridge Taxidermy (his lifelong craft) which he owned and operated until his death.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Hay Springs, sons Brad (Amy) Cover of Alliance, Brett (Marie) Cover of Hay Springs, daughter Azure (Jeff) Summers of Tumwater, WA, his sister Linda Cole of Bucyrus, OH, his nine grandchildren, Chasidy, Mason, Christopher, Zachary, Emily, Hailey, Nicole, Kalyn, and Cora, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends and hunting buddies.
