Barb graduated from Chadron High School in 1965 and upon graduation she married Bruce Van Vleet. To this union were born Michelle and Stefani. Barb, Bruce, Michelle and Stefani travelled and lived all over the globe following Bruce during his Naval career.

Barb loved life and was a friend to anyone and everyone she came in contact with. She loved following all of her children and grandchildren in all of their sports. There was never a louder voice in the crowd cheering her children and grandchildren on.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Isabelle Brown, her twin brother and sister Jerry and Julie Brown, and numerous aunts and uncles.
