Bernetta (Bernie) Cashon passed away September 20, 2014 at her home with family surrounding her. Bernie was born in Genoa, Nebraska on October 9, 1952. She moved to Chadron in February 1956 with family. She attended Assumption Academy Grad School through high school when she graduated in 1970. Bernie was a wife and mother with a radiant smile and a contagious laugh. She worked at the Bell Telephone office on Boudreaux St. in 1970. In 1972 she married Anthony Cashon and with this union she was blessed with four children, Kristina, Anthony Jr., Jodi, and Amanda. In 1992 she moved to Morrill, Nebraska with her husband who worked at UPPR. In 2000 she started driving vans for Armadillo Trans. Co. and continued to drive railroad crew until moving back to Chadron in 2008. Bernie loved her craft sewing and making blankets, playing pool, fishing, and camping. Family was one of the most important things in life, she cherished every moment spent with them. Bernetta is survived by her husband Anthony of 42 years; her three daughters: Kris (Mike) Gunwall, Jodi (Brian) Kimmel, and Amanda Chason (fianc�½ Dean), 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and her brother Irv Heiser. She was preceded in death by her mother Millie Heiser and Son, Anthony Jr. A memorial has been established for the Circle of Light.
