Bill Dohrman

June 13, 1939 — March 24, 2026

Rushville

August William (Bill) Dohrman, age 86, passed away March 24, 2026 at Gordon Country Care in

Gordon, Nebraska.

He was born to August Leonard and Ruth Marie (Turman) Dohrman on June 13,1939, and

joined his older sister Delores (Elmer) Dreyer.

Bill was raised on a farm south of Rushville near Immanuel Lutheran Church. When it was time

to attend school, Bill, at the age of four, rode his horse with his sister Delores. He graduated

from Rushville High School in 1956 at the age of sixteen.

Bill worked for Ralph Strong Construction after high school and learned many skills that he was

able to use the rest of his life. He could build anything from kitchen cabinets to barns. He also

had a talent for restoring classic automobiles, tractors, antiques, and furniture.

Sixty-five years ago, Bill married Diana (Tiensvold) on June 19, 1960, and to this union three

children were born: Bryan James, Donna Marie, and John William.

In 1963 Bill and Diana moved “up home” to the ranch west of Whiteclay where they began

farming and ranching. In addition to farming and ranching, Bill and Diana owned Stabler’s Bar in

Whiteclay in the early 1970s, Jumping Eagle Inn in the late 70s, and Barrel House Liquor and

Lunch in the 1980s. Bill also worked for a time as the Sheridan County Roads Superintendent.

Bill’s heart was always with the farm, farm animals, wildlife, and nature in general.

In 2012 after spending fifty years “up home,” it was time for Bill and Diana to move to Rushville

for their later years in life. Bill spent this time building garages on his “in-town” property to house

all of his restorations and family heirlooms.

Bill is survived by his wife Diana; oldest son Bryan (Gloria) Dohrman of Geneva, Nebraska;

daughter Donna (Joe) Dolezal of Rushville, Nebraska; and youngest son John (Tina) Dohrman

of Atkinson, Nebraska.

Wagoner, Trever (fiancee Ashley) Dohrman, Dustin Odin Dolezal, Westley (Courtney) Dolezal,
