Chad Ireland

Chad Emery Ireland, 44 died Wednesday, February 27th, 2019 at his home in Martin, SD.

Chad was born October 12th, 1974 at Bennett County Hospital in Martin. He was the youngest of three children born to Roy and Barb Ireland. Chad grew up on his family farm with grandparents, and extended family. He loved helping out, fishing, hunting, camping, or any outdoor adventure. He attended school in Martin where he was captain of the football team, active in wrestling, and played trumpet in the band. He had an outgoing personality and infectious smile that drew others in, both young and old.

After graduating High School, Chad attended Black Hills State University and Dakota Vo-Tech. Chad worked in Rapid City at ASI as a sales rep. He then moved to Idaho where he worked for Sutton and Sons Auto dealership in sales.

After a few years in Idaho, Chad moved to Rapid City where he worked at Iseman Manufactured Homes in Sales. While in Rapid City, Chad met Trisha Martin and they were married on the farm in 2011. Chad and Trisha made their home near the White River and Chad was employed with Ireland Brothers Farm.

Chad and Trisha had so much fun fishing, camping, growing gardens, and loved their dog, cats, ducks, and chickens. He loved the outdoors and found joy in God’s creations.

Despite many health challenges, Chad had an amazingly strong, loving spirit, and huge heart!

Survivors include his wife Trisha, parents Roy and Barb, siblings Traci (Amy) of Idaho, Steve, of Rapid City, niece Kennedy, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 4th from 4:00 – 6:00pm at the Bennett County Funeral Service, 211 Main St. in Martin, SD. Services will be Tuesday, March 5th at 10:30am at the St. Katharine’s Episcopal Church, Martin, SD. Pall bearers will be Courtney Good, Joe Kosmiski, Brian Kehn, Rick May, Dave Jones, and Steve Strain. The family has set up a memorial for the American Diabetes Foundation.
