Charles (Fritz) Preble

I, Charles (Fritz) Preble was born in Hay Springs, NE in 1936 to Charles and Wanda (Myers) Preble. I Graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1955. I farmed with my father until 1952, and with Edward Preble and brother Dennis until 1960. On June 2, 1959 I married Flora Jane Faubion. We moved to Chadron, NE where I worked for Gambles and Henkens Equipment. In September 1964, I began a career with the Nebraska State Patrol and moved to Scottsbluff. In 1971 we relocated to Grand Island and in 1977 made the move to Mitchell, NE. After twenty years of service, I retired from the State Patrol on December 31, 1991. I kept myself busy for a few years working for Regional West Hospital and Scottsbluff County Sheriff's Office. Jane and I had three children, Mike, Clarence (Cap,) and Traci. On August 7, 2017 I lost Jane, the love of my life of 58 plus years. I am leaving behind my son Mike (Sandra) Preble, Daughter Traci (Mike) Brunz. Grandchildren Justin (Brandi) Brunz, Jeremy (Miana) Brunz, Zachary (Samantha) Preble, Ashley Brunz, and Charles Preble III. Great Grandchildren Brooklyn Brunz, Jaxon Brunz, Grayson Brunz, Rylee Preble. Step Grandchildren Lena Jones, McKenna Grass, and Axton Merrigan. My Sister Jennie Wanda Wasserburger. Special Friend DeAnn Jensen. My Brother-In-Law Gary Drabbles, and Sister-In-Law’s Beverly Preble, and Bobbie Preble. Preceded me in death are my wife Jane, son Clarence, parents Charles and Wanda, Brothers Dennis Preble, Carlyle Preble and sisters Raylene Drabbles and Ilene Kubo. Grandparents Edward and Jennie Preble. My free time was spent fishing, camping, snowmobiling, treasure hunting (walking the beaches and haggling at garage sales,) and of course, fixing the yard and honey do’s. In the past we rode motorcycles with good friends, but had to give that up because of bad knees. Finally, I always treasured spending time with my Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren.
