Danny Harris Stacy, lovingly known as Dan, passed away on July 3, 2023, in Chadron, Nebraska. He was born on July 9, 1938, in Waterloo, Iowa. We gather here today to remember and celebrate the remarkable life he lived.
Dan received his education from Boys Town High School and graduated in 1956. Following his pursuit of higher education, he ventured into the Air Force to serve his country. Dan's dedication and commitment while serving were admirable qualities that defined his character.
Outside of his military service, Dan had a zest for life through various hobbies and interests. He found solace in nature's embrace while fishing and hunting. Additionally, he enjoyed challenging himself on the golf course and participating in friendly bowling tournaments.
Dan was a beloved son of Leonard and Eileen Stacy. He grew up alongside his brothers James, Stanley, Gary, and Gregory who shared countless memories filled with laughter and brotherly affection. Throughout his life journey, Dan deeply cherished these sibling bonds.
In Chadron, Nebraska, Dan found his soulmate in Micci Stacy. Together they built a strong and enduring bond filled with love and companionship. Micci was not only Dan's wife but also his confidante throughout the ups and downs of life.
As a devoted father, Dan treasured his relationship with his son Mike Stacy of Clearmont, Wyoming. Their shared experiences created a lasting bond that will forever be valued.
Dan cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Danny (Bre) Stacy of Sturgis South Dakota; Cassie Stacy of Sturgis South Dakota; Jessie (Kieth) Ferguson of Rapid City, South Dakota; Michelle (Corey) Millard also of Rapid City, South Dakota. Their smiles brought him immeasurable joy.
The legacy continued with several great-grandchildren who brightened Dan's world with their presence. He valued their unique spirits and loved them deeply as they brought him immense joy and warmth. Dan also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each holding a special place in his heart.
Throughout his life, Dan touched the lives of many, leaving behind unforgettable memories. His gentle demeanor, warm smile, and kind heart illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Today, as we bid farewell to Dan, let us not mourn his departure but instead celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend.
Though he may no longer be present physically, Dan's legacy lives on in our hearts and memories. May we find solace in sharing the stories that made him who he was – a compassionate soul who lived life to its fullest and brought joy to all those around him.
