David Lee Vancil
Was born on 1/24/51 to Julia Marie and Leonard Adam Vancil in Gulfport, MS.He was lovingly raised by Elizabeth Grace and Carl Voss. When Dave was 17, he knew his country and Uncle Sam needed him, and he volunteered to head overseas to Vietnam to fight for his country. He met the love of his life, Barbara(Hardy) in Erlagen, Germany from the time Dave laid eyes on Barbara, he knew God put her on this earth to be his Girl! They were married in El Paso TX on 6/10/72 and spent very few nights apart! Dave did absolutely EVERYTHING he could to make Barbara happy, including helping her raise and/or foster several kids and Dogs! Dave and Barbara eventually moved to Hay Springs where Dave worked for McCarters (now Sackers) in Hay Springs for well over 20 years as well as panhandle drilling and Walmart! Dave took Jesus' hand and went to his heavenly home on 6/2/26. He had several family members that went before him, they are his biological parents and his Beloved mom and dad as well as Carrie,Leonard,Grace, Dorothy, Leroy and quite a few dogs who undoubtedly were waiting at the rainbow bridge for him! Those he left with only the memories in our hearts are his wife and soul mate Barbara,(hunka)daughter Keesha Long Wolf of Chadron, son Chase Vancil Lincoln (hunka), daughter Lori Hankinson alliance. His brothers Felix and Paul, as well as Barbara's family Beverly Summers (Stephen), Robert (Bob) Hardy (Joyce), Lorri Dunesmore, Jen Ponce, Rocky Hardy (Melissa) and half brother Ralph Brown (Mary), and half sister Rhee Lani ( Tod Wyzynajtys)
His precious Grandbabies who brought him such Joy and smiles and who made him proud EVERY DAY! Devin Robertson and Braya Long Wolf. Good Friend Calvin Strader and his sweet fur babies Lil Miss, Cricket, and Chelsie, along with many children they raised over the years! Dave truly loved to be out and about, made friends easily and loved people. He always provided for those he loved. They often had homeless or lost kiddos at their home. If Dave wasn't home, you could often find him out riding around town! When his kids were younger, you could find him playing Mario Kart and Dr Mario! Dave truly loved God, Country, and his family and friends! The one thing he loved most was God. Dave, until we hold you again in heaven, we will hold your memories in our hearts! We love you, Dave! A private family service will be held at the Veterans cemetery in Alliance, Nebraska, at a later date and time! Memorials may be given to TtoT.org
