Don Lowder

Donald William Lowder was born in Glenrock, Wyoming on January 16, 1942, to Robert Joseph Lowder and Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Rodigger. He went to heaven on September 23, 2024.

He was married to Dorothy Loraine Robbins on January 18, 1964, and they had 8 children, William Donald, Carl Joe, Darla Kay, Brian Kelly, Eddie Paul, James Allen, Deanne Marie and Justin Lynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons William Donald (Billy), Carl Joe, his sister Bobbi Jo Daniels, his stepfather Samual Carson and his wife Dorothy Loraine Robbins and many others.

He is survived by his children Darla Kay, Brian Kelly, Eddie Paul, James Allen, Deanne Marie, Justin Lynn, his grandchildren Kayla Marie, Nicholas James, Kyle Jo, Assett, and Lester (Trey).

Dad was a small statured man with a big heart. He never knew a stranger. Dad would help anyone if he could. He taught us all to have a strong work ethic. He had been living on his own since the age of 14. Dad always wanted to own his own land and leave his children a legacy, but life doesn’t always work out that way.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, 10:00AM at the Martin American Legion, Martin, SD. Visitation will be held Thursday October 10, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm at Bennett County Funeral Service, Martin, SD. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established and donations may be sent in care of James Lowder, 509 N Haley, Valentine, NE 69201.
