Donald Hines

Donald A. Hines was born December 10, 1931, at Tuthill, SD to Gerald and Anna (Cunningham) Hines. He passed away September 2, 2023, at the Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth, NE.

Don married Shirleigh Shebal on January 3, 1951. To this union two children were born: Cindy and Gary.

Most of their life was spent in Bennett County where they ranched, farmed and did custom haying. Due to health concerns their later years were spent in Ainsworth. Life in both places was blessed with family, wonderful neighbors, and friends.

Don enjoyed his family, the ranch and his cattle. He loved hunting and became an avid collector of Winchesters, saddles and spurs.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Shirleigh of Ainsworth; daughter Cindy Buckles of Ainsworth; son Gary (Andrea) Hines of Martin, SD; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Kenny (Beverly) Hines of Tuthill; sister Janet (Harlan) Reckling of Nixa, MO; special family Kevin (Robin) Schuetz of Long Pine, NE, along with nieces, nephews and other family members.

Memorial Graveside Services were held Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Martin Community Cemetery in Martin with Pastor Martin Leeper officiating at the service.  Casket bearers were Mark VonHeeder, Tony Buckles, Kevin Heath, Grant Moreland, Christopher Juhnke and Dave Hudson.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hochfuneralhome.com.
