Doris Lucreta Burck, 81, was born June 28, 1940, in Gordon, Nebraska to Ted and Marcella Evans. Doris passed away February 4, 2022, peacefully at her home.

After attending school in Gordon, she pursued baking school in Sidney, Nebraska. While there she met Vern Sinsel. Doris, Vern, and the children moved to Ogden, Utah, where Doris was employed with Wonder Bread Company for about 10 years, and she also worked in nursing homes.

In 1977, Doris and the children moved back to Gordon.  Doris was employed at the Jack and Jill Grocery Store in the meat department for 5 years. She was also employed at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home (now known as Countryside Care) for 5 years. After being there, Doris was offered the head Dietary Position at Gordon Memorial Hospital and worked there until she retired. Doris never stopped baking as it was her 2nd love, her family being her 1st.

Doris was preceded in death by her loving parents, her siblings Dallas Evans, Darlene Schwaderer, Charles Evans, Lois Retzlaff, and Edna Mae Garner and her son Robert Collins.

Doris is survived by her children Pam Loomis (Dan), Calvin Collins, and Romona Collins, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, 10:00 AM, at Wellspring Chapel in Gordon, NE. Inurnment will be held in the Gordon Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Wellspring Chapel and donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.
