Eddie Perrine

          John E. “ED” Perrine went to be with his lord and Savior January 6, 2024. Ed was born December 19, 1935, in Chadron, Nebraska. He was the only child John C “Chris” and Mabel (Durham) Perrine. He was raised in Kenwood addition of Chadron. During the “49” blizzard he delivered groceries on his sled for his parent’s grocery store to folks in the neighborhood.

     He began working for a rancher when he was in junior high school and found his lifelong calling to raise cattle. He also met the love of his life in Junior high. Genevieve “Genny” Nixon became his wife in 1953. They raised two children Randall and Sandya. Ed and Genny spent a lifetime building a herd of quality black angus cattle of which he still had a few at the time of his death.

     Ed and Genny enjoyed 67 years of love and laughter until Genny’s passing in 2020. Ed was active in the First Baptist church teaching Sunday school for many years. Ed is proceeded in death by Parents Chris and Mabel Perrine, infant son Michael, son Randy and his wife Genny.

     He is survived by daughter Sandy (Calvin) Mansfield-Crawford, Granddaughter Kristal (Sean) Watson, Granddaughter Kendall and Dylan, all of Aurora, Col, Sisters in law Coralie Nixon of Rapid City Helen Fisher of Ariz Francis (Fred) Hussey of Rapid City and special friends Charlene Roberts, Jessica Fisher and Connie Thornton who kept Ed supplied with good food and good company also Chad Fick.

     Donations can be made to Samaritans Purse or First Baptist Church.
