Elsie Caparoon

April 23, 1941 — August 21, 2022

Elsie Maie (King) Caparoon, 81 of Chadron NE passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 in her home surrounded by her children.  Her memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 - 11:00 a.m. at the Chadron Seventh-Day-Adventist Church.

Elsie was born on April 23, 1941 in Rushville NE to Kenneth and Virginia (Walgren) King.

She grew up on a farm outside of Hay Springs, NE and graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1959.  She then attended Chadron State College and received her teaching certificate. Elsie married the love of her life, Gordon Caparoon in 1960. They made their home in Chadron, raising 3 children, they were married 51 years.

Throughout her life Elsie taught elementary school for several years, was a personal care-giver, and a dedicated Church worker. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, bird-watching, sewing and all kinds of crafts, also taking classes including cake decorating and upholstering.

Elsie is survided by: Her daughters, Sharon (Norm) Austin of DePere, WI; Lori (Lance) Darrough of Lincoln, NE; Son, Gary Caparoon of Chadron, NE; Brother, Dennis (Kathie) King of Gordon, NE; Grandchildren, Aubrey (Brady) Asher; Brady (Hailey) Darrough; Natalie Darrough, all of Lincoln, NE; Kade Moore; Karsen Stokely, both of Chadron NE, Nephew, Jeff (Jenn) King and children; Niece, Trina (Mike) Kuper and children.

Elsie is preceeded in death by: Her father, mother,  husband, infant brother, infant son, and 2 grand-daughters.

She loved her family dearly and we love and miss her.

Memorials may be given in memory of Elsie to the Chadron Seventh-Day-Adventist Church.
