Gene E. Robinett, born August 9, 1944, in Greeley, Colorado, passed away on January 8, 2026, in Denver, Colorado.
Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cheri Robinett, who passed in 2015.
He is survived by his children Jason Robinett and Trisha Touchton; his daughter by marriage, Ramona Agin; his grandchildren Tyler Robinett, Hailey Robinett, Brooke Brooks, Lawrence Schnieder, and Dori Phillips; and his great-grandchildren Holden, Harper, Daxton, and Brecket.
Gene was a dedicated educator throughout his entire career, teaching multiple subjects at the high school level. He was also a passionate and committed coach, leading football, basketball, and track teams, and helping several of his students advance to state track meets. Known as a hard worker, Gene always kept himself busy and took great pride in mentoring and supporting young people.
Outside of his professional life, Gene enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He was well known for his sense of humor and his ability to lift the spirits of those around him, often making jokes and bringing joy to any gathering. Above all, he was a loving and devoted father who deeply cared for his family.
A public service will be held at Gordon Methodist Church on February 11 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gordon Public School system.
