George Bartholomew

George Bartholomew, 75, of Wheatland, WY died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Chadron Community Hospital in Chadron, Nebraska. He was born on November 26, 1938 in Turin, Iowa. As a young boy, he moved to Tuttle, North Dakota to live and work on a farm. He was a graduate of Bismark College. He was then employed for 5 years as a right of way agent for the ND Highway Department, before joining Basin Electric in 1970, as a right of way Specialist in Bismark, North Dakota. In 1976, he was named head of Missouri Basin Power Project right of way program at Wheatland, Wyoming. He then became Director of Communications and Government Relations for Basin Electric. On August 28, 1965 he married Marie Kaufman in Bismark, North Dakota. They had two daughters, Stacy and Kim. In 1976, they moved to Wheatland, Wyoming. George enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, golf, playing cards, and great times with friends. His survivors include his wife Marie; daughter Stacy (Jim) Gartzka and grandsons Brendan and Cameron of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter Kim (Robbie) Diehl of Chadron, Nebraska and grandson Lauden Keck of Wheatland, Wyoming; sisters, Zelda, Lynette, Susie, and Wendy; brothers, Tommy and Danny. There will be no memorial services for George as he did not want any, and his family is following his wishes.
