Jerry Parks

Jerry Wayne Parks age 52 of Rushville, NE was born on March 13, 1965 to Yvonne (Forster) and Joseph Parks Jr. in Kadoka, SD. Jerry passed away on November 13, 2017 at the Gordon Memorial Hospital after suffering with ALS.

Jerry attended rural and public schools in the Gordon area, graduating from Gordon High School in 1983.

On July 15, 2017, Jerry married the love of his life, Deborah Hilliker. On the day of his wedding Jerry also gained a cherished son, Brandon Hilliker.

Jerry served in the Wyoming Air National Guard from October of 1983 to August of 1988.
Jerry enjoyed his time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or riding his Harley. Jerry's love for the outdoors served him well in his 25 years of employment with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF). Jerry worked until March of 2017 when his illness made it unsafe for him to continue.

Jerry is survived by his wife Deborah Parks of Rushville, NE, son Brandon (Claire) Hilliker of Gordon, NE, mother Yvonne Parks of Gordon, NE, siblings Vonnie Schwaderer of Gordon, NE, Janice Alexander of Crawford, NE, Paul (Ronda) Parks of Owanka, SD, Kristi (Jeff) Driscoll of Orlando, FL, Andrea (Tim Hardy) Parks of Rapid City, SD, Larry Parks of Box Elder, SD, and Ruby (Keith) Wolkins of Gordon, NE, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Parks Jr., sister Mary Parks, maternal grandparents Earl and Laura Forster, paternal grandparents Joseph and Ruby Parks, and brother-in-law Mark Alexander.

Visitation will be held at Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon on Thursday November 16, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Gordon City Auditorium on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jason Funk officiating.

A memorial has been established for the ALS Foundation for Life and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home PO Box 366 Gordon, NE 69343.
