June Anita (Thorsen) Dudek, 74, of Alliance, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026.
June was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness and faith touched countless lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Dudek, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her son, Peter Dudek, his wife Rachel, and their children Cameron and Emily; her daughter Sarah Dudek; her granddaughter Malorie Schneberger; her great-grandson James Schneberger; as well as many cousins, friends, and members of the community she loved so deeply.
June was known for her caring heart, strong faith, and dedication to serving others. For more than 30 years, she owned and operated Dudek’s Christian Bookshelf, where she became a familiar and comforting presence to many in the Gordon community. Her life was centered around her faith, her family, and helping others.
She faithfully served at the Church of God in Gordon, Nebraska, where she was deeply involved in children’s ministry and teaching Sunday school. June had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for, and her words of encouragement will be remembered by all who knew her. She was often heard saying, “God is good,” “Bless the Lord,” and “I’ll pray about it” — phrases that reflected the faith she carried throughout her life.
June also found joy in the simple things. She loved tending to her garden, caring for her many houseplants, and spending time with her beloved cat, Silly Alice. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and care for both people and the little things that brought her happiness.
