Krista Rae Moore, 65, died November 4th, 2022, in Chadron, NE.
Krista was born October 16, 1957 in Chadron, NE to Harley and Ethel Olson. During her youth, she attended school in Chadron, Scottsbluff and Alliance, and then graduated from Alliance High School in 1975. After graduating from high school, Kris went on to study Elementary Education at Chadron State College.
She met her future husband, Jim Moore, in 1976 and the two married on May 19, 1979. Kris graduated from Chadron State that same year with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Jim and Kris started their lives together in Chadron and from this marriage were born two daughters; Heather Elizabeth and Katlin Rebecca.
After graduating college, Kris started her teaching career where she spent most of the rest of her life teaching. She taught at various country schools in Dawes and Sheridan County throughout her career. The last twenty-five years she had spent teaching at Wolf Creek School, where she was employed at the time of her passing.
When she wasn’t teaching, Kris enjoyed photography and scrapbooking. She never left home without her camera and could always be seen taking pictures of flowers, sunsets, and her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various extracurricular activities. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her sixth grandchild in January.
Kris is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughters, Heather Barry and Katie (Kyle) Hunter; her five grandchildren, Averielle, Rylan, Mayley, Paisleigh, and Beckett; her sisters, Sandy (Greg) Cruz and Arlana (Tom) Whitney; her brother Kurt (Mary) Olson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 2:00 on Monday, November 14th, 2022, at the Chadron Methodist Church in Chadron, Nebraska.
