Leanne Dorine (Lewin) Binger was born on January 12, 1946 to Bob and Dorine (Dietel) Lewin. She passed away peacefully April 26, 2025, at Pioneer Manor with her husband by her side.
Leanne grew up on the Lewin family ranch in Beaver Valley. In her early grade school years, she and brother John rode horseback five miles to the south Beaver Valley school. She graduated 8th grade from the north Beaver School, which was only approximately one & a Half miles from her home.
Leanne grew up riding horses, milking cows, dressing chickens, helping with a large garden, and all the canning associated with gardening. Those activities continued for most of her life, with the exception of milking cows.
During her high school years, Leanne boarded in town as did several county kids. Mary Peters, Cheryl Huckfeldt, and Janet Glenn were her roommates. Post graduating HSHS in 1946, she attended Chadron State College for one year and waited tables at the Chuck Wagon restaurant.
On September 1, 1968, Leanne married Gary Binger, who had recently enlisted in the Airforce. Immediately following the ceremony, they jumped in their new 68 Impala and headed for duty in Charleston, SC. After Gary’s discharge from the Airforce the couple returned to Hay Springs. Gary & Leanne joyfully welcomed their first-born son, Brant, in 1970. In 1975 they moved into their new home and in 1976 were blessed once again with a sweet baby boy, Travis.
Leanne was a very loving wife, mother, and Grandmother for 50 years. Her devotion to her family was beautiful! As her child rearing duties eased, never one to be idle, she enjoyed quilting and joined timberline quilters. Over a 35-year period she wore out two sewing machines, creating many beautiful, quilted creations, including several quilts. Some went to her five Grandchildren.
Leanne is survived by her husband, Gary, son, Brant & Grandson Braydon & Granddaughter Kya. Son; Travis, (Jesse) Grandsons Riggin, Rowdy, & Colt. Her brother John (Carol) and Brother-in-law, Jim Evans & his daughter Krista & Amy. Her 104-year-old mother-in-law, Betty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Linda Evens, and Father-in-law, Bruce Binger.
Her Joyful, infectious laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
