Lester Reese

Lester Lee Reese was born on May 10, 1940 in Stanton, Nebraska to Eldon Reese and Sophie Jensen. Lester had lived southeast of Gordon with his family in younger years. Lester was the youngest of 6 children. He had 2 sisters: Elvira and Darlene and 4 brothers: Alvin, Gordon, Vern and Lawrence.

Lester had worked different jobs from being a ranch hand on the U Cross to farming. His long-time profession for 37 plus years was driving semi-truck, either locally or over the road.

Lester had married Janet Rhodes and from this union had 4 children: Jennie Reese, Sherry Reese, Scott Reese and William Reese. In 1978 Lester had met Sandy Farmer and then acquired 2 more children by love: Lisa De Boer and Kristie Peterson. Lester was so proud to also have 18 grandchildren and 26 plus great-grandchildren.

Lester always said he was “Chasing the white line and never found the end of it.”

Memorial services will be held Saturday April 24, 2021, 10:30 AM at the Gordon Cemetery.
