Linda Meisman

January 7, 1950 — September 26, 2024

Linda Sue Meisman, 74, of Whitney, Nebraska, passed away at home with family by her side on September 26, 2024.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 7, 1950, to Harold Henrick and Harriette LeBlanc, Linda experienced the profound loss of her father at the tender age of five, a heartache she carried with her throughout her life. She always looked forward to the day they would be reunited.

Linda had a servant’s heart. In every role she took on, she loved, cared, and served others until it was her time to be served, cared for, and loved.

Alongside her sister Debbie, Linda traveled the country with their mother and stepfather, Max Howe, making movies and short films. Throughout her life, she embraced her adventurous spirit and visited every state except Alaska, creating lasting memories along the way.

While living in Rapid City, Linda joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 18 years old. Her relationship with God became her most cherished gift, and she remained a strong believer throughout her life.

At 20, Linda married Paul, and together they shared 54 years marked by her unwavering commitment, navigating the ups and downs of life as they raised their seven children—six sons and one daughter. Her greatest joy and most profound legacy was her role as a mother. She believed that motherhood was a sacred calling, one that shaped not only her life but also the lives of her children and grandchildren. Linda's nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love created a foundation of strength and compassion for her family.

She taught her children how to find the best in others, to work hard without complaint, to endure hardships with grace, and the value of family and being responsible. Her lessons were not just words but were demonstrated through her actions every day. She will be remembered as a source of endless encouragement, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting word

As her youngest grew up, Linda became a caregiver, forming a deep and lasting relationship with the Dotson family over many years. She continued as a residential caregiver until an injury left her unable to work.

Linda's influence extended beyond her family, touching the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire and uplift future generations. As we remember Linda, we celebrate the profound impact she had as a mother, a role she embraced with all her heart.

Throughout her life, Linda served within her church, teaching and sharing her profound love for God and His plan of happiness. She embodied the principle of perseverance in faith, demonstrating unwavering dedication to her beliefs until the very end.

Linda is survived by her husband, Paul Meisman; her seven children—Aaron, Brian, Clayton, Debra, Evan, Flint, and Garrett; and her sisters—Gloria Skyberg, Claudia Werlinger, and Deborah Howland. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, stepfather, and brother Charles Henrick.

Her funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chadron, Nebraska, on Tuesday, October 1, at 10:00 AM.

Linda truly believed in God. She is now reunited with her father and family. Smile for her; she certainly is.
