Linda Shadbolt, 72, of Gordon, Nebraska died Sunday, April 3rd of injuries sustained in a ranching accident. Her loss was completely unexpected, and her family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Linda was born in Chadron, Nebraska on July 8, 1949, to Orris & Joyce Glaze. Linda graduated from Gordon High School in 1967 and attended the University of Nebraska where she graduated in 1971 with a BA in Sociology. Linda later completed her training as a Registered Nurse through South Dakota State University and worked as a nurse in a variety of areas at various hospitals in Wyoming, Nebraska, and South Dakota; including 20 years in the Emergency Room on the Pine Ridge reservation, prior to retiring.
In 1971, Linda married George Shadbolt of Merriman, Nebraska. Linda and George had two children: George Quentin Shadbolt of Merriman and Rachel Ann Shadbolt of Gordon. In addition to her children, Linda is survived by four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her sister, Joy Magowan of Sugar Land, TX and her brother, Curt Glaze of Livermore, CA.
Anyone who knew Linda, knew of the joy she found in gardening, her love and passion for animals (especially cats and horses) and her unfailing kindness. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, 10:00 am, at the United Methodist Church, Gordon, NE. A memorial has been established for The World Food Program or UNICEF and donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.
