Obituary of Lisa Anne Domingo Cook
Memorial services for Lisa Anne Domingo Cook, 50, of Crawford, Nebraska will be at 10a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron with Reverend James Domingo officiating. Burial will be at Crawford Cemetery with military honors.

On January 11, 2018 Lisa Anne Domingo Cook went home to Jesus and her family who have gone before her.
Lisa was born to Robert and Liz Domingo on August 22, 1967. She was welcomed home by her parents and two brothers, Michael and James. As was the Domingo way she was beautiful from the moment she was born.
Lisa and her four brothers suffered through chicken pox together when she was almost 3 years old. That same year she fell and broke her arm.
From kindergarten through the ninth grade she attended Weeping Water Public School. She finished high school at Crawford High School. During the summers she worked at Fort Robinson State Park. Lisa excelled academically and was well liked in school. She was in Honor Society and went to Girl's State.
After graduation Lisa attended Chadron State College for two years. After her freshman year in 1986, she and her two younger brothers, Brian and David, enlisted in the Army Reserves in what is called split option. She did her basic training at Fort Dix, NJ that summer. She spent another year at Chadron State and completed her training at Fort Jackson, SC in 1987. During this time, she also worked as a Lifeguard at Chadron State College.
Lisa wanted to take a year off college and make a life change, so she accepted a nanny job in California. She worked for several different families. Some good and some not so good. Her last family was a couple of doctors, they got along well, and Lisa was encouraged to train to be a surgical tech. She took a 10-month course at a community college in San Diego.
While she was in CA she would go to Army Reserves meetings, where she met Terry Bockes. They married and were sent on assignment to a base in Germany for 2 years. Lisa took this opportunity to travel and see several countries: Holland, Spain, Austria, France and of course, Germany.
After that tour of duty, they were transferred to Louisiana. Lisa worked at a hospital in Baton Rouge until she separated from Terry and moved to Hammond, LA where she worked at North Oaks Hospital.
It was at North Oaks that she met Jeff Cook in 1999. They were a good match and married in 2001. Jeff applied for a job at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He got the job, so they moved to Louisville, NE with their dog, Thibadoux. Lisa worked at the hospital too. While in Nebraska Katie was born in December 20, 2003. She was the light of their lives and the "belle of the ball". The family moved back to Louisiana in 2005. Lisa and Jeff returned to their former jobs at North Oaks Hospital.
In 2012 Jeff began to suffer from several health issues and he died on August 2, 2014 while they were vacationing. This was a very painful and difficult time for both Lisa and Katie.
After a time, Lisa left North Oaks and began working at Cypress Pointe Hospital. She was working at Cypress Pointe at the time of her diagnosis with brain cancer.
Wherever and with whomever Lisa worked or lived, she was loved and respected for her work ethic, her intelligence, her willingness to help others whatever the circumstance. She will be missed by many.
Lisa is survived by Leslie and James (her brother), these two gave such loving care to Lisa during her last months of life. Leslie never left Lisa's side. They did countless tasks to make Lisa as comfortable as possible. They were at her bedside as she took her last breaths.
