Lou Marshall

February 28, 1942 — August 24, 2025

Chadron

Dora LaWanna Marshall (Lou) was born in Hampton, VA to Neill and Wilma Campbell, the third of five children. When she was seventeen, she met the first love of her life, the boy next door, who was home on leave from the Air Force. After a few months Connie and Lou were married and started a military life and family having six children together, moving often. The last place they moved to was Rapid City, SD. Connie and Lou later divorced but remained friends until his death.

Lou went to work for Moyle Petroleum and Common Cents, a job she loved. After a year they ask her to move to Chadron. By then her children had grown up, so she moved and started another chapter of her life. It was in Chadron where she met the other love of her life, Darrell Marshall. They were married in 1991.

Lou loved to garden and was very proud of her flowers, her little piece of heaven and the many quilts she made her children, and the work she and Darrell did at the American Legion. Together they enjoyed working with veterans in Hot Springs.

Lou is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Lana) Wilson of Rapid City, SD, Gregory (Sue) Wilson of Prattville, Alabama, daughter Wendy (Jeff) Reoh of Hermosa, SD. Her sister Shirley Elliott of Fayetteville, North Carolina. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Lou was preceded in death by Darrell, her parents, three brothers, and three children, Thomas, Cynthia and William Wilson.
