Marge Rotherham

Marjorie Ann Rotherham, 89, passed away peacefully July 19, 2026 in Crawford, Nebraska at the Ponderosa Villa. She was born September 12, 1936 in Tekamah, Nebraska to Karl and Callista (Kunz) Weichman. Marge was the youngest of three children.

In March of 1948 the family moved to Stuart, Nebraska to run the International Harvester Dealership. After graduating from high school in 1954, Marge worked for the SCS (Soil Conservation Service) in O’Neill, Nebraska.

She was united in marriage to Vincent L. Rotherham on May 4, 1957 in Stuart, Nebraska. To this union four children were born; Jan, Patrick, Michael, and Terrence.

In 1958, Marge and Vince moved to Niobrara State Park where they began their careers with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Then in 1968, they moved to Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford, Nebraska.

Marge was an active member of the community: a 50 year member of PEO, a Teammates mentor, an avid Crawford Rams fan, a Post Playhouse participant, and a musician and religious educator for St. John’s Catholic Church. “Oma” was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed handing out hugs, cinnamon rolls, and Tootsie Pops.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Karl and Callista; husband, Vince; brother, Milton; great grandson, baby Michael; and several in-laws and special family friends.

Survivors include: daughter, Jan (Monte) Burki; sons, Pat (Dani); Mike (Edna); and Terry (Teresa); 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sister, Theo Kohle, and in-laws, Butch and Carol Rotherham.

Marge was blessed with a long, fruitful life full of faith, family, friends, and a lot of fun. She will be deeply missed. AMEN- We Believe!
