Roberta June Lembke

Robert June (Egly) departed this life on April 28,2026 at Chadron Community Hospital. She was born on March 14, 1937 in Geneva, NE to Lorence June Egly and Evelyn (Shoaf) Samuelson. In her youth, she was known as Bobbie until she moved to Chadron. She married Wayne Lembke June 12, 1953. Roberta and Wayne shared a rare and beautiful bond serving as one another’s rock through every season of life. To this union, three children were born - Joy, Jay, and Jed who serve as a testament to the strength and devotion of their parent’s love and partnership.

Whether Roberta offered a listening ear, a homecooked meal, or her unwavering loyalty, her generosity knew no bounds for those she held dear. Roberta found immense joy in the simple pleasure of connection, whether through the friendships she nurtured with the Order of Eastern Star, BPOE Does, American Legion Auxiliary, or the lively tradition of meeting her girl friends for coffee. The family gatherings at the Lembke Ranch held a special place in her heart. She treasured the holidays and the deep bonds of sisterhood she shared with all of her sisters-in-laws, creating memories filled with laughter and love that will be long remembered.

Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother where love was evident in everything she did. She is survived by her children, Joy Brown (Hyannis), and Jed Lembke. Her grandchildren: Dana Brown (Portland, OR), Kyle (Lissa) Brown (Columbia,S.C.), Jared (Elizabeth) Lembke (N.D), Logan Lembke (Rapid City, S.D.), and Jeffery Rhoads (MT). Plus, her great-grandchildren, Cora Brown, Lucas Brown, Malachi Jackson, Alexander Brennen, Isaiah Lembke, Mateo Lembke and a precious new grandchild is expected this fall. Her sister-in-laws; Violet Lembke (Hemingford, NE), Ann Lembke (Springville, UT), Karen Calkins (Mulvane, KS), and brother-in-law Roy (Lee) Lembke, (Havre, MT) and many nieces and nephews.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Lembke, her son Jay Lembke, her parents June Egly, Evelyn and Carl Samuelson, Wayne’s parents Martha and Carl Lembke, her sister Barbara (Ronnie) Carlson, Aunt Minnie Lichte; sister-in-laws Glendoris (Ross) Rash, (Kay) Kathleen Lembke, brother-in-laws Carl (Ethal) Lembke, Myron Lembke, Robert Lembke, niece Julie Anderson, and nephew Steve Carlson.

A memorial service will be held at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, NE and internment at Greenwood Cemetery at Chadron, Nebraska - Monday July 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. A reception will follow the memorial service at the County Kitchen. A memorial will also be held at the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department.
