Ron Britton

Ronald Roy Britton

Ron was born January 11, 1930 to Jesse and Myrtle Britton in the car on the way from Glen to the hospital in Crawford. Ron passed away on September 18, 2026 at Ponderosa Villa in Crawford.

Ron spent his early years growing up in Glen, where he had many adventures as a young boy and learned the value of hard work while working along side his dad in the fields and helping with the livestock. He was the 3rd of 5 brothers, Duane, Jesse (Devere), Ron, Lavern (Bernie) and Warren (Butch). The family moved to Crawford where he worked in the lumber yard with his dad, as well as various other jobs. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1947.

Ron married June Eagen on January 20, 1958 in Rapid City, South Dakota. To this union 4 children were born, Debbie (Bob) Pickering, Patty, Mike and James.

Ron was a loving and devoted husband and father working hard to provide for his family often spending long periods of time away from home driving truck. He cherished the time spent at home with his family.

Ron is survived by his children Debbie (Bob) Pickering, Patty, Mike and James all of Crawford, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother in law Mike Eagen, sisters in law Terri Meeker and Elaine (Mike) Ahlers as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife June, his parents Jesse and Myrtle Britton, in laws Elmore and Mavis Eagen, brothers and sister in laws Duane (Betty), Devere (Dorothy) Bernie (Clydean) and Butch (Renate) grandsons Jeremiah and Jesse, great grandson Rylan, daughter Mina, and granddaughter Jackie.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ponderosa Villa or Crawford Volunteer Fire Department.
