Roseann Scherbarth

Roseann Joyce (Serbousek) Scherbarth was born on July 19, 1957 to Ed Anton and Marlene Serbousek (Russell). She died on August 8, 2014. She attended country school until 8th grade and graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1975. She married Jim Scherbarth in 1976 and had three children, Anton, Amy, and Justin. Roseann and Jim made their home west of Hay Springs. She worked at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs for 34 years. More recently at Chadron State College and alongside Jim on the ranch for 38 years. Her interests included sewing, baking, quilting, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, calving ( when it wasn't too cold), staying busy and spending time with her family. She loved teaching her skills of sewing and cooking to her grandchildren and enjoyed quilting and sewing for just about anyone that she could help. Roseann was preceded in death by her father, Ed Anton Serbousek, mother and father-in-law Rosemary and Stanley Scherbarth, and nephews Michael Fernau and Cody Ruegge. Survivors: -Husband Jim -Son; Anton (Holly) Scherbarth and Brook, Bailey, and Toby -Daughter; Amy Jo Scherbarth and Sawyer -Son; Justin (Stephanie) Scherbarth, and Jared and Christian -Mother; Marlene Russell -Sister; Nicolette (Lyle) Horn and Family -Brother; Russell (Kari) Serbousek and family -Sister; Natalie Fernau and family -Brother; Tony Serbousek -Brother; Troy Serbousek -Sister; Shaeleen (Darrin) Liewer -Friend Nayda Lou Davis And multiple aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws. A memorial has been established for the Sheridan County 4-H Youth or the Hay Springs Fire Department and Rescue Unit. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, Po Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
