Samantha Jo McCoy was born in Chadron on July 18th, 1987, to Ranita McCoy, the second of five children. She passed away on April 18, 2023, at her home in Chadron

Samantha was a shy, beautiful blonde girl with big blue eyes as she grew up in Crawford, NE. She attending Crawford public schools, until her junior year of high school, then received her GED online.

In 2006, at the age of 19, Samantha had her first child, Dylan. From that moment on, she was destined to become the best mom she could be. Dylan soon became a big brother and the first born of 3 siblings, when Samantha had Evan in 2010. She was an amazing boy mom until she had her beautiful baby girl, Jazlynn in 2013. After that, her perfect little family was complete.

Samantha loved her children more than anything in life and although she raised them alone, she made sure she provided for them and gave them many experiences growing up. She wanted nothing but the best for her babies.

Samantha always had a passion for cooking and baking, even as a young child. As she got older, her cooking became well-known among her family and friends. She loved to be in charge of making the feasts, whether holidays for family or just a cookout with friends. No one left hungry nor dissatisfied.

Samantha loved serving others; as she had said, her love language was acts of service. She happily baked and decorated cakes for anyone in need. She was a natural in the kitchen and was so passionate about it.

Not only was Samantha an amazing cook, but she was also a great photographer. She loved taking photos for any occasion, including taking family photos of her children as well as her many nieces and nephews.

She was very artistic and was exceptional in many projects including woodworking, building shelves, and other various arts and crafts.

Samantha always had the heart to help others. Even if she didn’t have what was needed, she would always find a way to help another person. She was a very generous and selfless woman. She became a CNA, working in nursing homes and home care.

She always had that passion to help anyone and everyone. Those fortunate enough to have met and worked with Samantha always considered her family. While her time on the earth was short, her love was infinite and unmeasurable.
