Sherri Lea (Peabody) Blome, age 56, of Chadron, Nebraska, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025.
Sherri was born on December 6, 1969, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Roy and Sharon Peabody. She spent most of her childhood in Worland, Wyoming, with her sister, Lana, and her brother, Jeffery. She attended Chadron State College, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. She went on to work at the college briefly before spending 30 years working at Western Community Health Resources.
Her greatest joy was being a mother to her two children, Wyatt and Sydney. She loved spending time with her family and buying personalized gifts for every occasion.
Sherri was highly involved in her church and her community. Over the years, she was active in Teammates, Chadron Community Recreation, the Chadron Christian Church Steering Committee, and several college outreach projects. She discipled other young Christians, gave generously to several organizations, and was always willing to help where needed. She devoted her life to serving others and living joyfully.
Sherri was preceded in death by her grandparents Tom and Sally Peabody, and Floyd and Wanda (Susie) Stone, as well as beloved family friend, Raylene Drabbles. She is survived by her parents, Roy and Sharon Peabody of Bar Nunn, Wyoming; her sister, Lana (Justin) Glanz of Bar Nunn, Wyoming; her brother, Jeff (Rhona) Peabody of Columbus, Nebraska; her son, Wyatt (Breezy) Blome of Buffalo Gap, South Dakota; her daughter Sydney (Christopher) Gwerder of Chadron, Nebraska; her granddaughters Lenley and Jory Blome of Buffalo Gap, South Dakota; and her beloved companions Rudder and Champ, along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Chadron Christian Church on Friday, December 19th, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a graveside service to follow at the Hay Springs Cemetery, and a luncheon at Chadron Christian Church after that. We ask that all who attend honor Sherri’s memory by wearing her favorite color, yellow, or other bright colors to represent her joyous spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Chadron Christian Church or Activate Global, two organizations that Sherri regularly supported through her tithing.
