Shirley Douthit

Shirley Ann Douthit, 76, of Crawford, Nebraska, passed away on May 21st, 2025. She was born to parents Dwayne Krueger and Dorothy Bleasdell/Krueger, on December 12th, 1948 in Gordon, Nebraska.

She graduated from Crawford High School in 1967. She went on to study Cosmetology at Western Nebraska Community College.

Shirley enjoyed many creative hobbies including gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and cross stitching.

Shirley married Gaylen Douthit on October 17th, 1970 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Together they raised one son: Tim Douthit.

Shirley is survived by son Tim, daughter in-law Jennifer, sister Sharon Kloberdanz and bother Steve Krueger.

She was preceded in death by husband Gaylen, father Dwayne Krueger, mother Dorothy Krueger, sister Sandy Krueger, father in-law Dale Douthit, and mother in-law Wanda Gibbons/Douthit.

Graveside family service is scheduled for May 28th at Crawford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chadron Community Hospital Circle of Light.
