Virginia "Jean" Easton

Virginia “Jean” Easton was 94 years old, of Gordon, NE, when she was called from this life on February 8, 2023. She was born June 28, 1928, in Leslie Michigan.

As a newborn infant she was left on a neighbor doorstep, because her mother was unable to take care of her. When just a year old, she was adopted by a family and then they moved to California where she attended school. When she was eleven years old, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where Virginia finished the eleventh grade.

On August 1, 1959, she married Ernest Clifford Easton. To this union they had two sons, Alan and Michael. The family moved to Gordon, NE, in 1978. She cared for her ailing husband for many years until his passing.

Virginia was a very caring person and thought of others in the community. She leaves us to be mourned by many friends and family. She was a member of the RSVP for several years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #34.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Ernest of 33 years, son Alan Easton, and two infant daughters.

Survivors include daughter-in-law Kathy Easton of Gordon, NE, son Michael Easton of California, grandchildren Kristina Easton of Gordon, NE, and Bryan Easton of Lincoln, NE, great-grandchildren Audrey, Dasyn and Xaley Easton of Lincoln, NE, Kristle Easton of California and Beverly Easton of Ohio and great-great-grandchild Barrick Easton of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 15, 2023, 2:00pm at Chamberlain-Pier Chapel, Gordon, NE, with burial to follow in the Gordon Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday February 14, 2023 from 3 to 5 pm.  A memorial has been established for the American Legion Auxiliary Post #34 and donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.
