Winifred Jane Lewis passed away on November 20, 2018. Jane was born October 2, 1935 in Crawford, Nebraska to Frank “Bunk” and Florence (Duffin) Eberspecher. She was baptized and received her first Holy Communion in the little Catholic Mission Church at Montrose, Nebraska (Mount of Roses). Services for Jane will be held at a later date.
She attended rural school at District #7 and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1953. She married Charles F. Lewis from Torrington, Wyoming. To this union four children were born, Karen, Bryan, Mike, and Lori.
The family ranched for many years in Lusk, Wyoming and Torrington, Wyoming. They were later divorced.
Jane moved to Harrison, Nebraska where she worked at Sioux Sundries and later as a cook for eighteen years at the Sunshine Senior Center. She enjoyed writing and sharing her poetry with family and friends. She was an accomplished artist of oil and pencil, and enjoyed crocheting. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her family and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; son Bryan Lewis; sisters JoAnn Carnahan and Kathy Brayton.
She leaves behind her best friend Mike Zimmerman, daughters Karen and Lori Lewis; son Michael Lewis; grandchildren Dori Houx, Amy (Philip) Canaday, Jordan Marotte, Alisha Lewis, and Amanda Lewis; great grandchildren Keenan and Rachel Ritke, and Tayler Canaday.
