Graveside Services for Xenile Nixon, 91, of Chadron, Nebraska will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron, Nebraska. Xenile passed away on July 7, 2022 at Crest View Care Center in Chadron, Nebraska.

Xenile Maxine (Wineteer) Nixon was born October 16, 1930 to Ada Mae (Davis) Wineteer and Howard Curtis Wineteer. She had two brothers waiting to greet her, Curtis and Robert, and later on a sister Betty Jean.

She grew up at Oelrichs, SD until 8th grade, when her dad and mom moved them to Chadron, Ne. She met her cowboy at the Roller-Skating Rink, he was putting skates on skaters. Xenile lost her skates a lot at this time, and they were sophomores and juniors in high school. They dated until Dec 19, 1949 when they were married.

They worked on ranches until they had a chance to lease a ranch and then later bought it.

They raised their children there: Michael Eugene, Eric Eugene, Dave Eugene, Gloria Gay, Mary Maxine, and Billi Irene.

Xenile had been married 63 years when she lost her cowboy Gene.

She loved to work in her yar, ride horses, and seeing her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

A memorial has been established for the Chadron Rescue Unit and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain Chapel, PO BOX 970, CHADRON, NE 69337.
