Yvonne Parks

Yvonne Parks of Gordon NE passed away on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at Country Side Care in Gordon Nebraska.

Yvonne was born on November 18, 1937 to Earl and Laura (Dean) Forster in Gordon NE. She was raised on the family farm. She attended Pleasant Hill school and graduated from Gordon High school in 1956.

On November 3rd, 1957, Yvonne was married to her one and only Joseph Paul Parks Jr. Within their marriage, she and Joseph had 9 children who they loved dearly. The family lived in Kadoka and Edgemont SD until Joseph passed in 1969. Yvonne then returned to Gordon to raise her children. She resided in Gordon until her death.

Some of Yvonne's favorite times were spent at the bowling alley either working or bowling. She enjoyed being a member of the women's Traveling League. She was also employed for many years at the Western Café where everyone became fond of her friendliness and wonderful cooking.

Yvonne always welcomed others into her home. She was a caring loving mother, grandmother and friend. Yvonne was "Mom" or "Grammy" to many. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She will be dearly missed.

Yvonne is survived in death by her children- Vonnie Schwaderer, Gordon NE, Janice Alexander, Crawford NE, Paul (Ronda) Parks, Owanka SD, Kristi (Jeff) Driscoll, Orlando FL, Andrea Parks, Rapid City SD, daughter -in- law Debbie Parks, Rushville NE, Larry Parks, Box Elder SD, and Ruby (Keith Sr.) Wolkins, Gordon NE. Grandchildren- Marti, Lori, Clifford, Bobbie, Sarah, Jennifer, Amanda, Kimberly, Kevin, Samantha, Jeremy, Courtney, Colbi, Keith and 19 great grandchildren. Siblings Barbara Stevens of Tulsa OK, Darlene Caves of Collinsville OK, Melvin Forster of Gordon NE, and Wendel Forster of Albuquerque NM.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, both of her parents, her infant daughter Mary as well as her son Jerry, and granddaughter Crystal and her 3 children, and her son-in-law Mark.

Funeral services will be held on Monday November 20, 2017 at the Wesleyan Gospel Chapel in Gordon NE at 10am. Visitation will be Sunday, November 19th, 3 PM to 5 PM.
A memorial has been set up for the Gordon Volunteer Rescue Squad and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366 Gordon, NE 69343.
