DeLioyt A. Frahm, 79, died unexpectedly July 16, 2020. He was born January 23, 1941 in Grant, NE, the son of Ivan W. Frahm and Irene Lucille (Lagler) Frahm. DeLioyt graduated from Ogallala High School in 1958. Following graduation, he joined the Army National Guard serving for 4 years. When he returned to Ogallala, he worked with his father on the farm/ranch raising Purebred Polled Herefords.

DeLioyt also showed Registered Polled Hereford Bulls for Orville Kuhlmann, a prominent well-known breeder of North Platte, Nebraska. While Showing bulls at the Denver Livestock Show he met his future wife, Judi Fay. He quickly handed her the Bull’s lead rope so she couldn’t run away.

DeLioyt and Judi were married December 8, 1963, in Ogallala. Judi was an “Air Force Brat” but quickly learned to be a rancher’s wife. They bought a ranch in Dawes county, NE where they lived, worked, played and raised their children. Many life lessons were learned along the way because DeLioyt and Judi were always a team. They retired in 2002 and moved to Crawford, NE where they enjoyed many happy years with friends.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Judi, are his son, Brian, his wife Carrie, their Children Cassidy, Lane, Hayes, Justus, and Amanda; daughter Chris Lien and her husband Dave; daughter Tracy Hicks, her husband Robert and their children Jacob, Tylor, Ryan, David, Dustin. Also surviving are six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Myron, and a sister, Charlene.

DeLioyt was a big, Boisterous, happy man all of his adult life. He never met a stranger. One of the most important legacies he gave his children was a love for animals and the knowledge of how to care well for them.
