Memorial Service for Edith Geary, of Crawford, Nebraska, will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Crawford Community Building in Crawford, Nebraska.

Edith passed away on September 20, 2020 at her home in Crawford. She was 99.

Edith was born to Ray and Erva (Wilder) Crile 5 miles south east of Crawford in a log house with Mrs. Chris Williams (midwife) in attendance on February 15, 1921.

She grew to woman hood and married and had 7 children. She leaves to mourn her passing 4 Daughters: Billie Hamar, Betty Calder, Dannie (Gordon) Stull, and Mary Sample; a daughter-in-law Jean Riggs; sisters Alice Richardson, Eva Dickman; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grand, and 22 great great grandchildren.

That that preceded her in death are her parents Ray and Erva Crile; her two husbands: Warren Riggs and William Geary; daughter Vida Anderson; sons Garry and Frank Riggs; son-in-law Randy Sample; Brothers John and George Crile; sisters Ethel Hunt Jordan, Dora Phister, Thelma Nickols; grandson Terrance O’Donnel; granddaughters Shawn Riggs, Cindi Kubo, and 2 infant granddaughters.

Inurnment will in at the Crawford City cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her first husband and daughter Vida

A memorial has been established for the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department. Donations can be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
