Harry (Bud) Serres

Harry Stephen (Bud) Serres was born the second child of Harry and Louise Serres on August 24, 1933 at Crawford, Nebraska and passed on November 9, 2020 at the Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell, Nebraska.

He attended rural country school and graduated from Sioux County High School in 1950.

On July 1, 1954, Bud married Norma Sue Geike at Montrose. To this union three children were born: Sally Sue, Mark Stephen, and Lora Lee.

Bud worked for his dad and uncle before moving to town in 1969. He worked many jobs including the Standard Filling Station, Herren Bros, Highway Garage and drove mail route for many years.

When their children were finished with school Bud and Sue moved back to the country where he farmed and ranched until the time of his death.

Bud loved playing cards and horseshoes and he was an avid gun collector.

He enjoyed his neighbors and the country life.

Bud is survived by his wife Sue of 66 years. His children Sally (Bill) Glaser, Mark (Barb) Serres, and Lora (Gordon) Mathis. Grandchildren Michelle (Ryan), Tracy (Jeff), Preston (Kathy), Vaughn, and two step grandchildren Sarah and Jason. Bud was blessed with three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Charlotte.

You knew you were Bud’s friend if he called you Lad.

Rosary will be on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 5:00 PM at Church of Nativity in Harrison, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM the Church of Nativity in Harrison, Nebraska.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Harrison Rescue Unit or Church of Nativity. Donations can be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
