Jack G. Ellis, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior May 12, 2019 at his home in Casper, Wyoming.

He was born at home on a ranch south of Hay Springs, Nebraska to Sam and Ruby Ellis on September 6, 1929. He was one of 10 children. He attended high school in Gordon, Nebraska and graduated from Cody High School in Cody, Nebraska.

After graduation he worked on various ranches until 1948. Then he worked as a fireman on the Chicago Northwestern/Burlington Northern Railroad and was stuck in the snow on the train in the ’49 blizzard for two weeks.

He married Arlene Reynoldson, April 15, 1950. To this union 2 children, Steven and Sheri, were born. Jack then worked on several ranches and lived south and west of town on the Cherry Creek Ranch from 1955 to 1967 when they purchased the M&L Market and ran the store for 16 ½ years. After the store was sold, they continued to ranch until they sold the ranch. They moved to Casper, WY in 2016 to be close to their daughter for care.

Jack is survived by his wife of 69 years, Arlene, one son, Steven (MaryAnn) Ellis of Cheyenne, WY and one daughter, Sheri (Ray) Hoevet of Casper, WY. 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Grandchild.
