Jenny Birnbaum left this world on the wings of angels, March 24th, 2022, just a few days following her 64th birthday. Her services will be Friday, April 1st, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Chamberlain Chapel. Visitation will take place Thursday, March 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chamberlain Chapel. She was born March 21, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri the sixth of seven children born to Bill and Nadine Davis. She grew up in Rapid City, SD where she met the love of her life, Terry Birnbaum, in 1973.

Jenny and Terry started dating their freshman year of high school and never stopped. They were out for life’s adventures from the beginning and Terry took them on many adventures in his 1966 GTO. They were married on May 27, 1977, in Rapid City SD when Jenny was 18 and Terry was 17. Terry then went to basic training in Fort Dix, New Jersey, and then schooling followed in Aberdeen, Maryland where Jenny soon followed to make their home. Jenny followed Terry throughout his career in the Army making their home from Maryland, two young kids living the dream on the California coast, Germany, Rapid City, then to Chadron, where they have lived for the last 40 years.

Jenny was so proud of her soldier as well as all the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces. She was awarded the Prestigious Molly Pitcher Award from the Field Artillery.

During her time in Chadron, Jenny worked for the city, driving the Handi-bus for over 25 years. Her favorite part of driving the bus, was taking the seniors to lunch and the Head Start kids to school. When she was not working, Jenny could be found spending time with her family and friends. Her and her sister could often be found many afternoons playing cards, boggle, or scrabble. She also enjoyed playing pool during pool league on Wednesday evenings. Her competitive spirit allowed for a good-natured ribbing to her competitors. She loved her Huskers and would cheer them on every Saturday and loved to cook.

Jenny’s love of family was so abundant, her family was the focus of attention during Christmas, her favorite holiday. She loved shopping and made sure they each received special gifts they would enjoy. Terry made sure to have the house decorated with lights which she also enjoyed so very much.

She was proceeded in death by her father Bill, mother Nadine, Mother-in-Law Alma Gruenig, Step-Father-in-Law Lester Gruenig, Father-in-law Lawrence Birnbaum, Brother Barry, sister Mary, brother Willy, brothers-in-law Bill Birnbaum and Bruce Birnbaum, and infant son Dakota Lee Birnbaum.

Jenny is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Terry Birnbaum of Chadron, siblings Larry Davis of Idaho, Theresa (Max) Booher of Casper, WY, Gene (Leigh) Davis (Poplar Bluffs, MO), sister-in-law Nancy Davis (Norman, OK), brothers-in-law Mike (Sarah) Birnbaum (Rapid City), Jim Birnbaum (Scottsdale, AZ), Pat (Lee) Birnbaum (Mt.
