Kelly Jay Parker was born April 25, 1964 in Chadron, NE to William Lote Parker and Corale “Dood” Vay Parker (Smith). He passed away at age 55 on January 13, 2020 in his home in Rapid City, SD of natural causes.

Kelly was raised in Hay Springs and enjoyed learning to work on vehicles from his dad at G&S Auto. He also enjoyed going to the car auctions in Denver, CO with his dad and brothers any chance they got. He graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1982. Following graduation, he and Lesa moved to Rapid City, SD where Kelly continued his passion by working several jobs in marine mechanics. They got married April 14, 1984 and were married for 26 years. To this union three children were born, Carrie Lynn (Jacob), Kyle Jesse, and Dylan Dane. In 1992 they moved back to Hay Springs where Kelly worked at Summerville Oil for 14 years until it was closed. In 2006, he opened the old family business under the name Parker’s. In 2010 Kelly moved back to Rapid City to continue his mechanic career at Tires, Tires, Tires and has worked there the last nine years.

He has always enjoyed working on vehicles, spending time with family and going to drag races with the family. Kelly was always a kind, good natured person who never met a stranger. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Kelly was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents, William and Corale Parker, brother Scott Parker, two nephews, Christopher William and Owen Bradley Parker, and daughter in law Katie Rose Paul Parker.

Kelly is survived by his children, Carrie, Kyle, Dylan, and a grandson Jaxon Jacob. His brothers Brad (Linda) Parker, Craig Parker, sister in law Teri Parker, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many more family and friends.

Funeral Services for Kelly Parker of Rapid City, SD will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 2:00PM at the Hay Springs Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Hay Springs City Cemetery.

Kelly was born on April 25, 1964. He was 55.
