Obituary

CHADRON, NE – A time of visitation for Marilyn J. Moeller will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron from 7:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church at 802 Chadron Avenue in Chadron, NE at 10:00 a.m. on July 16, 2020.  The service will be streamed live over the church Facebook account. Inurnment will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Grand Island on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:30 AM.

Marilyn J. Moeller, Age 89 died on July 10, 2020 at Crestview Care Center in Chadron, Nebraska.  She was born on September 27, 1930 in Grand Island, NE and was the daughter of Neil and Donna (Hatfield) Pinkston.  Marilyn graduated from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1948.  After high school, she worked as a telephone operator. She married Otto W. Moeller Jr. on December 14, 1952 during a ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island.  After marriage, she continued to work as a telephone operator until Otto transferred with the telephone company to Chadron, NE.  After the untimely death of Otto on September 28, 1980, Marilyn began work as the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Chadron.  After 34 years of dedicated service to the Church, she retired in 2014.

Marilyn was a long-time member of Chadron First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed bible studies and work with the Chadron Christian Women’s Club.  She enjoyed working with crafts and also ventured into selling Avon products.  But most importantly she loved her Lord and family very much.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Donna Pinkston, sister Margaret Rickert, Husband Otto W. Moeller Jr., and daughter and son-in-law Donna and Todd Ray.

Survivors include daughter Christi Winter of Omaha, NE, daughter and son-in-law Diana and John Blaylock of Norfolk, NE, grandchildren Jimmy Winter and fiancée Andrea Meinders of Houston TX, Jill Blaylock of Norfolk, NE, Jessie Winter and Del Goedeken of Omaha NE, Matthew Ray and friend Samantha Torado of Kona HI, and Adam Blaylock and fiancée Kelsey Vesley of Fort Wayne, IN. Surviving extended family include her sister Jan Metcalf of Austin TX, brother-in-law Harold Endorf of Fairbury, NE and a number of nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Chamberlin Chapel in Chadron from 7:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church at 802 Chadron Avenue in Chadron, NE at 10:00 a.m. on July 16, 2020.  The service will be streamed live over the church Facebook account. Inurnment will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Grand Island on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10:30 AM.

The family would like to thank the professional staff and employees of Chadron Community Hospital, Crestview Care Center and the Hospice Care Services for their excellent care of our mother and grandmother.

A memorial may be directed to the family for a purpose yet to be determined.
