Graveside Services for Roland “Pat” Drinkwalter of Crawford, Nebraska will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford City Cemetery. Pat passed away on April 26, 2021 at Ponderosa Villa in Crawford, Nebraska

Roland Drinkwalter was born January 4,1927 at Ainsworth, Brown County, Nebraska. His parents were Ross and Mary (Harrison) Drinkwalter. Grand- father Harrison gave him the nickname Pat. His early years were spent on a farm six miles northwest of Ainsworth. The family moved to Dawes County in September 1937. His elementary school years were in the rural districts. Roland was a 1944 graduate of Crawford High School. He was co-captain of the football team in his senior year.

Roland served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After being inducted at Fort Logan, C0, he was stationed at Camp Wolters, TX. When Camp Wolters closed, he was assigned to Company “A” Tank Battalion, Infantry School at Fort Benning, GA. His Company was ready to ship overseas when the war ended.

Roland and Marjorie Raymond were married on January 2, 1951 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The majority of their years were spent living on a farm and ranch. Roland worked on several oil rigs and was employed at Crawford Livestock Market for many years. He was a proud supporter of the Crawford Fourth of July Rodeo. He was a member of the Crawford Old West Trail Rodeo Board and served as president for several years. Roland was also a member of the American Legion, PRCA, and Crawford First United Methodist Church.

Roland is survived by Linda Lea (Bill) Oldaker, Kenneth Casey (Shelly), Roy Jay (Judy) and Cindy Ann. Also surviving are grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, sister-in-law Donna and sister Jean. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and four brothers (Robert, Ray, Jesse, and Willard).

A memorial has been established the Crawford United Methodist Church or Ponderosa Villa and donations may be sent in care of
